Fellowship on global issues accepting applications

Journalists interested in covering climate change and other global issues can apply for a fellowship.

The Kiplinger Program in Public Affairs Journalism at Ohio University offers short-term fellowships to train journalists to cover the most pressing issues of our time. The 2022 fellowship will focus on climate change, but future fellowships will address social justice, global pandemics, wealth inequities and poverty, human trafficking and opioid abuse.

The 2022 fellowship will take place April 19 to 22 in Athens, Ohio.

Fellows receive four days of immersive training from experts on covering climate change.

Print, broadcast and online journalists with at least five years experience are eligible to apply, including freelancers.

The fellowship covers accommodations, hotel and most meals. Limited scholarships are available to reduce travel costs for fellows selected from outside the United States.

The deadline is Dec. 1.
